Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's Akasa Air gets airline license from DGCA

What: Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-owned Akasa Airlines on Thursday received its flying permit from DGCA. Akasa Air will become the eigth airline to get Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from DGCA.

Akasa Air: Akasa is the second passenger airline to get a nod to fly this year. It got its license reinstated in May. Akasa registered as SNV aviation, placed an order for 72 Boeing 737 Max planes last Nov.

Airline services tweet: “we are pleased to announce the receipt of our AOC. This is a significant milestone, enabling us to open our flights for sale and leading to the start of commercial operations.”
