Man wrongly arrested receives ₹5 Lakhs compensation in Karnataka

What: The state government has been directed by a single judge bench of Justice Suraj Govindaraj to pay ₹5 lakh compensation to Ningaraju N for his wrongful arrest.

About: Ningaraju N said that after arrest his identity was not cross-checked and verified, had that been done the police would have realised that he was innocent.

What’s next: The Judge has ordered the amount to be paid within a period of eight weeks.
