Govt proposes new date for meeting with farmers

  • The Central Government today sent an invite letter to 40 farmer leaders for a meeting on December 30 at Vigyan Bhavan at 2pm.

  • Reportedly, in a previous letter the government had asked the farmers to fix a date for the meeting. Following which, the farmers had given 11am, December 29 as the suitable date for the meeting.

  • As the protests by the farmers enters its 33rd day, the borders surrounding Delhi-Singhu, Tikri, Ghazipur continued to remain closed. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that if the government will not pay heed to the demands then they are in complete readiness to extend their agitation.
