
Government worker entitled to maternity leave even if child is born shortly before joining service
The Rajasthan High Court ruled that if she entered during her term of imprisonment, that is, 15 days before conception before three months afterwards a female government servant who joined government service during her pregnancy would be entitled to maternity leave.
To that effect, an order was issued by the Single Bench of Justice Dinesh Mehta interpreting Rule 103 of the Rajasthan Service Law, which regulates the granting of maternity leave to female government servants.
