The ministry of agriculture reached out to the farmer unions informally to send their representatives to discuss the minimum support price (MSP). No formal communication from the agriculture ministry reached Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) till Tuesday.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) urged the government to meet legal guarantees related to MSP and the farmers who died.
The protesting farmers refused to leave the sites of protest. The state of Punjab withdrew the legal cases on farmers, but Haryana and Uttar Pradesh took no steps.
The farmers also wrote to the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to resume their demands and lift the Electricity Amendment Bill and scrap fines related to the stubble burning under the Commission for Air Quality Management law.
