The government has procured 151.17 lakh tonnes of paddy worth ₹28,543 crores at MSP from the farmers. The informed data is up till 25th October.
The procurement has been made by the government agency Food Corporation of India (FCI). The paddy has been procured from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
3,53,252 cotton bales worth ₹1047.90 crores have been purchased from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh thereby benefitting 68,419 farmers.
"About 12.98 lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the ongoing KMS procurement operations with an MSP value of ₹28,542.59 crore at a rate of ₹18,880 per tonne," an official statement said.
