Government Procures Paddy Worth ₹28,543 Crores

  • The government has procured 151.17 lakh tonnes of paddy worth ₹28,543 crores at MSP from the farmers. The informed data is up till 25th October.

  • The procurement has been made by the government agency Food Corporation of India (FCI). The paddy has been procured from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

  • 3,53,252 cotton bales worth ₹1047.90 crores have been purchased from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh thereby benefitting 68,419 farmers.

  • "About 12.98 lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the ongoing KMS procurement operations with an MSP value of ₹28,542.59 crore at a rate of ₹18,880 per tonne," an official statement said.
