Government agencies being used to target Farooq Abdullah: National Conference

  • The National Conference on Monday said , the BJP led Central Government is employing government agencies to target Former J&K CM and Party president Farooq Abdullah after failing to fight him politically.

  • The party was reacting to an Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons issued to the Lok Sabha member from Srinagar.

  • The central agency questioned Abdullah, connection with a money-laundering probe in a case related to the alleged embezzlement of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association funds, officials said.

  • His statement will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA)

  • This moves become extremely important in light of recent attempts by Farooq Abdullah in forging political unity among different parties of Jammu and Kashmir and fight for restoring Article 370.
