Goa minister resigns from BJP; likely to join Congress

  • Ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled in Goa next month, BJP's MLA Michael Lobo resigned from the Parmod Sawant led state government on Monday.

  • Lobo, who represented the Calangute Assembly constituency, also quit as member of the Legislative Assembly. He was the minister for science, technology, and waste management in the BJP-led Goa government.

  • There are speculations that the senior leader will join Congress leaders. On the question regarding joining other political parties- he stated that he is in talks with other parties and will arrive at a decision soon.

  • "I will see what step to take next. I'm in talks with other political parties. I was upset with the way we were looked at and party workers are unhappy," he added.
