Global Governance need of hour says WHO

• As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage across the world despite the availability of vaccines, the UN health agency World Health Organisation has called for global governance

• "It is necessary to enhance the position of health policy in overall policy-making by governments and international organizations by setting up a Global Health and Finance Board at the G20, recognizing that health is a global public good," said Mario Monti, Chair of the Commission.

• The WHO highlighted how the pandemic response of many countries was framed on the lines of politics and failed to dave people's lives

• further, it said that it was evident that single countries response are not enough when it comes to communicable disease in a globalized world
