Giving a push to the party, former Punjab IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap joins AAP

  • Former Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Kunwar Vijay Pratap joined the Aam Aadmi Party. The IPS officer joined the party in presence Delhi CM and Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal and party state head Bhagwant Mann in Amritsar.

  • The former IG Pratap was the lead of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that was constituted to investigate into the 2015 sacrilege case and the Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan.

  • Referring to the sacrilege case, Kunwar Pratap said, 'conclusion was given without taking into consideration the outcome of the report that was filed in the Faridkot court... Those guilty are dictating terms to the government."

  • He further stated that this would mark a beginning of a revolution from the holy city that people's power must go to them. AAP will initiate a new political sphere.

  • During the joining in today, CM Kejriwal also said that although dicsussions are on to choose the right CM candidate for Punjab, it will be sure that the party's CM candidate is from Sikh community.
