Germany takes a major decision on climate change

  • Even as coronavirus pandemic rages across the world little attention is being paid to the subsequent climate damage and climate change that’s taking place.

  • In a major development German Chancellor Angel Merkel’s Cabinet on Wednesday approved an ambitious plan to reduce Germany’s greenhouse gas emissions to net zero’ by 2045, five years earlier and with deeper cuts than previously planned.

  • The move came after country’s top court said that Government must work to ensure clear goals for greenhouse gas reduction. Further The German chancellor state that the need of the hour is to build political majority vs climate change.
