French air-strikes kill 50 Al-Oaeda terrorists in Mali

  • The French Government on Monday said that it's forces had neutralised about 50 terrorists linked to the terror organisation Al-Qaeda in air strikes in Central Mali.

  • French Defence Minister Florence Parly after meeting the members of Mali's transitional government said that The offensive took place on Friday in an area near the borders of Burkina Faso and Niger, where government troops are struggling to rout an Islamic insurgency."

  • Parly further describing the plan said that the decision to carry out air strikes was taken when the jihadists had taken refuge in the forests, under the trees and were difficult to locate. Following this, two Mirage jets and a drone were sent so as to neutralise the terrorists.
