Four dead in clash amidst polling in West Bengal
Four people were shot dead in the Cooch Behar district of West Bengal in a clash with security forces outside a polling booth, as the state undergoes its assembly elections.
The clashes have resulted in a tough political tussle and a blame game between the BJP and the TMC.
The Election Commission had suspended voting at the booth in Sitalkurchi, after the violent clashes emerged and has sought for a detailed report till 5pm.
PM Modi offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. He also attacked CM Mamata Banerjee and her party- saying that CM and her party goons are worried seeing the on-ground support for BJP.
Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee also got back by demanding a resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She said that ‘BJP knows it will not win and therefore is resorting to guns and violence.’
