Former Mumbai cop blames Maharashtra Gov's ministers for extortion

  • Suspended Mumbai police officer, Sanjay Vaze on Wednesday stated a few top ministers in the Maharashtra government pressurised him into extorting money from businessmen and establishments.

  • Vaze echoed the same allegations that had also been put on by former Mumbai commissioner, Param Bir Singh, against few ministers, including Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh, who has now resigned.

  • Vaze is currently being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly planting an explosive outside Mukesh Ambani's residence and also for murdering Thane based businessmen, Mansukh Hiran, in March.

  • The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadhi (MVA), the ruling coalition has however, rejected these allegations and alleged that this is BJP's conspiracy to pull them out of power.
