First printing of U.S constitution to be auctioned by Sotheby’s

• Sotheby announced on Friday that a rare first-edition copy of the American constitution will be auctioned by the auction house.

• The value of the document is said to have been estimated at $15 million to $20 million.

• The document was initially acquired in 1988 by late S. Howard Goldman for $165,000.

• Dorothy Tapper Goldman, the late New York real estate’s wife has offered the document for sale.

• All the proceedings will go to the charitable foundation which has been established in her name.

• The document is said to be one of only 11 existing printed copies from the first printing of the Constitution.
