Find out where the world’s first floating city will be built

• It has been announced that the world’s first floating city will be constructed off the coast of South Korea and is likely to be completed by 2025.

• The floating city, which has been backed by the United Nations, will be a flood-proof infrastructure, comprising several human-made islands that will rise with the sea to eliminate flood risks.

• The city will be built at an estimated cost of $200 million and will be able to withstand other natural disasters including tsunamis and Category 5 hurricanes as its floating platforms will be anchored to the seafloor.

• Electricity will be generated in the floating city from solar panels which will be installed on the top of buildings.
