• According to a technology firm, TikTok had topped Google and Facebook as the most popular destination on the internet for the very first time.

• It was found in an analysis of web traffic this year conducted by Cloudflare, a storage software company, that TikTok was the most visited website of 2021 and most widely used social media platform.

• TikTok was launched by Byte Dance, a Chinese startup, in 2016.

• Cloudflare wrote, “It was on February 17, 2021, that TikTok got the top spot for a day. Back in March, TikTok got a few more days and also in May, but it was after August 10, 2021, that TikTok took the lead on most days.’
