
Find out the 3 Iconic buildings in Delhi set to be destroyed for the Central Vista Project
Three of Delhi's most iconic structures- the National Museum, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), the National Archives Annex- will be reduced to dust, as they are to be demolished under the Central Vista project.
The project is being undertaken to make a new Parliament complex and new residences for the Prime Minister and the Vice President- and it amounts to rs 20,000 crore.
Along with these iconic structures, other buildings marked for demolition are: Shastri Bhavan, Krishi Bhavan, Vigyan Bhavan, Vice President's Residence, Jawahar Bhavan, Nirman Bhavan, Udyog Bhavan, Raksha Bhavan.
Last week, 70 scholars and intellectuals from India and abroad had written an open letter to the Prime Minister calling for putting a stop to the project in the midst of the pandemic.
