Find out the 3 Iconic buildings in Delhi set to be destroyed for the Central Vista Project

  • Three of Delhi's most iconic structures- the National Museum, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), the National Archives Annex- will be reduced to dust, as they are to be demolished under the Central Vista project.

  • The project is being undertaken to make a new Parliament complex and new residences for the Prime Minister and the Vice President- and it amounts to rs 20,000 crore.

  • Along with these iconic structures, other buildings marked for demolition are: Shastri Bhavan, Krishi Bhavan, Vigyan Bhavan, Vice President's Residence, Jawahar Bhavan, Nirman Bhavan, Udyog Bhavan, Raksha Bhavan.

  • Last week, 70 scholars and intellectuals from India and abroad had written an open letter to the Prime Minister calling for putting a stop to the project in the midst of the pandemic.
