Find out BJP's promise to voters in Uttar Pradesh

  • Just 48 hours before the assembly elections are scheduled to begin in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP launched its manifesto today. The manifesto, 'Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra', was originally scheduled to released on Sunday, but was postponed as a mark of respect for Lata Ji's death.

  • The manifesto promises free electricity for irrigational purposes to the farmers of the state. It also promises two free LPG cylinders (one each on Holi and Diwali) under the Ujjwala Yojana scheme.

  • Further, the party has promised for free public transport travel for women over 60, and free two-wheelers for female college students.

  • While releasing the manifesto, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also mentioned that those found guilty of 'love jihad' in the state will be jailed for 10 years with a fine of rs 1 lakh.
