With heavy spells of rain adding to the problems of the farmers protesting at the borders of Delhi, the representing farmers' union, Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Wednesday warned the Government to start talks and accept their demands.
"More than 470 farmers have been martyred in the farmers' movement. Many agitators have had to leave their jobs, education and other work. The government's attitude meanwhile shows how inhuman and careless it is towards its own citizens, the 'anna daatas.’ If the government cares about its farmers and wants their welfare, then it should initiate dialogue with the farmers and accept their demands," stated that SKM in one of it's statements.
It has been nearly six months that farmers have been protesting at the three borders of Delhi- the Singhu, Tikri and the Ghazipur border. And so far there have been 11 round of talks been the farmers and the Union government without any consensus.
