Farmers to take their protests to Parliament

  • Farmers from across different states in India who have now been protesting on the borders of Delhi for nearly eight months, plan to take their protests to the Parliament.

  • The protests will be held on the scheduled dates of the Monsoon session, which will commence on July 19 and end on August 13.

  • The protests will be held by 200 people demonstrating outside the Parliament complex everyday on which the session is scheduled to be held.

  • Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait further stated that this will be a completely peaceful protest and they will sit outside the Parliament as the proceedings continue. The farmer leaders were also scheduled to have a meeting today to plan the strategy of the protests.
