Farmers to protest at Jantar Mantar during Parliament's Monsoon session
After discussions with the Delhi Police, farmers protesting against the farm laws at the Delhi borders- who were to start protests outside Parliament starting today, have decided to shift their protests to Jantar Mantar.
Farmers plan to hold protests in form of 'Kisan Sansads' on each working day of the Parliament until the Monsoon session continues.
The DDMA gave permission to the farmers to hold protests comprising 200 people between 11 am to 5 pm from July 22 to August 9.
The farm unions have agreed to the conditions and stated that they intend to hold peaceful protests. The SKM said on Wednesday, "A large contingent of farmers in a long convoy, led by BKU Chaduni, left from Yamunanagar on Tuesday. Similar mobilisations are happening at other protest sites too.”
Amidst this, heavy police has been deployed on the borders and also in the Jantar Mantar area.
