Farmers to protest at Jantar Mantar during Parliament's Monsoon session

  • After discussions with the Delhi Police, farmers protesting against the farm laws at the Delhi borders- who were to start protests outside Parliament starting today, have decided to shift their protests to Jantar Mantar.

  • Farmers plan to hold protests in form of 'Kisan Sansads' on each working day of the Parliament until the Monsoon session continues.

  • The DDMA gave permission to the farmers to hold protests comprising 200 people between 11 am to 5 pm from July 22 to August 9.

  • The farm unions have agreed to the conditions and stated that they intend to hold peaceful protests. The SKM said on Wednesday, "A large contingent of farmers in a long convoy, led by BKU Chaduni, left from Yamunanagar on Tuesday. Similar mobilisations are happening at other protest sites too.”

  • Amidst this, heavy police has been deployed on the borders and also in the Jantar Mantar area.
