Farmers Protests enters 29th day. Read major developments
As the protests by farmers enters its 29th day on December 25, there is still no resolution reached between the Centre and the farmer unions regarding the three farm laws.
Agriculture Minister Tomar sent a letter to the union leaders yesterday asking them to fix a date and time for the meeting. The letter also stated that it’ll not be ‘logical’ to discuss any MSP related demand.
The farmer union leaders are supposed to have a meeting today- following which they will likely reply to the letter today.
Prime Minister Modi will be addressing 9 crore farmers today to clarify the Centre’s position regarding the farm laws yet again. He will also be releasing the next batch of ₹18,000 crore under the PM Kisan Scheme.
