Farmers Protests enters 29th day. Read major developments

• As the protests by farmers enters its 29th day on December 25, there is still no resolution reached between the Centre and the farmer unions regarding the three farm laws.

• Agriculture Minister Tomar sent a letter to the union leaders yesterday asking them to fix a date and time for the meeting. The letter also stated that it’ll not be ‘logical’ to discuss any MSP related demand.

• The farmer union leaders are supposed to have a meeting today- following which they will likely reply to the letter today.

• Prime Minister Modi will be addressing 9 crore farmers today to clarify the Centre’s position regarding the farm laws yet again. He will also be releasing the next batch of ₹18,000 crore under the PM Kisan Scheme.

• Delhi’s border-Singhu, Tigri remain closed for the 29th day.Ghazipur border too has been blocked completely.
