Farmers leave meeting called by Govt, tear copies of the law

  • The representatives of the 30 Farmers‘s groups left a meeting called by the Government to resolve their contentions regarding the recently formulated farm laws.

  • The farmers left the meeting over the absence of the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar . They were upset over his absence as they left that government lacked seriousness to discuss the matter.

  • The meeting was attended by the agricultural secretary, the farmers however, wanted the minister to be present there.

  • The agitated and upset farmers raised slogans at the place of the meeting and tore copies of the farm bills. They further stated that their protests against the legislation will continue .
