Farmer Protests may ‘intensify’- Find out why

  • Farmer organisation leaders from states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh stated that farmers from these states are likely to join the agitation in Delhi. This is likely to intensify the current agitation of farmers from Punjab and Haryana.

  • Farmer groups from UP, Uttarakhand and MP are likely to enter Delhi from the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border.

  • On Friday, large scale protests were held by farmers in the states of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh as well.

  • Meanwhile, thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana camped at the Singhu border as they weren’t allowed entry into the national capital by the Delhi police.

  • A large group of farmers from MP also staged a protest at NH-3, near Agra as the UP Police didn’t allow them to cross the border and enter the national capital.
