Tech-giant Facebook has deleted the main page of Myanmar’s military. This comes after two protesters were killed as the police opened fire during the protests.
The page was taken down under the company’s community guidelines, ‘prohibiting incitement of violence.’
Myanmar’s military is known as ‘Tatmadaw.’ Notably Facebook over the years has worked with civil rights and democracy activists in Myanmar and has taken down several pages and accounts of military leaders. Earlier it had also blocked the account of present coup leader, Min Aung Hliang.
