EU approves Pfizer vaccine for adolescent children

  • On Friday the European Union approved the United States's Pfizer vaccine for 12-15 years old children. The vaccination program with Germany for adolescent children will begin next month.

  • The United States and Canada have already authorised Pfizer for adolescents. Already Pfizer has been approved for people of 16 & above-aged vaccination.

  • However, the EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides said "Beyond the decisions, the ultimate government choice is for parents to choose which vaccine they want for their children". Pfizer vaccine was 'highly preventative' for COVID-19 in children.
