The Tigray People’s Liberation Force (TPLF) which has been in conflict with the Ethiopian government suffered a setback as the government announced that Ethiopian security forces had captured the city of Adigrat and was advancing on Mekele, the capital of the northern Tigray region.
On November 4, security forces loyal to the TPLF attacked the Northern Command of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) in Mekelle, killing several people. The region has been facing rebellion since the starting of November.
Several people have migrated to Sudan, many families have lost their loved once due to the ongoing attacks. The African Union Said that it will be sending its special envoy in order to start the mediation process however Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s office refuted the claims.
