No coercive action will be taken against Newsclick founder and editor-in-chief in connection with a money laundering case, the Delhi High Court said on Thursday.
Justice Mukta Gupta said Prabir Purkayastha's temporary protection will remain in place till the next hearing on September 2.
The judge ordered that no coercive action be taken (against the applicant) in the bail application until the next date of hearing... subject to him joining the inquiry.
In response to a request by ED's lawyer, the hearing on Purkayastha's motion for anticipatory bail in a money laundering case was delayed.
To date, ED has not yet provided copies of its ECIR to parties affected, according to the court's record of proceedings.
According to the high court, the ED had been ordered not to take any coercive action against the news portal and its editor in chief.
