In a major jolt to BJP’s dream of winning West Bengal and further on expanding in South India, regional politics has come to play and voters have yet again placed their faith in Mamata Banerjee and other state leaders.
In a tight fight Mamata Banerjee has defeated Suvendhu Adhikari, her long time confidant who defected to BJP few months ago. Adhikari had challenged Mamata Banerjee to contest against her.
According to the official results Mamata Banerjee has won Nandigram by 1200 votes and TMC has swept a majority in the Assembly elections.
Notably political strategist Prashant Kishore who had said that he would “quite this space if BJP crosses double-digit Mark” has left his profession of political strategising.
