Dholavira, now a World Heritage site
In another stride for India, the World Heritage Committee approved the inclusion pf Dholavira to the list of World Heritage Site.
The World Heritage Committee announced its decision on Tuesday during its 44th session which is being held online from July 16 to July 31. It is being chaired by China.
Gujarat has three world heritage sites now- Ahmedabad, Rani ki Vav, Champaner. Dholavira will be the latest addition to the list
Also known locally as Kotada timba, the site contains ruins of an ancient Indus Valley Civilization/Harappan city.
It is one of the five largest Harappan sites and most prominent archaeological sites in India belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization
