Democrats introduce a bill to prevent future ban on immigration on the religious lines

  • Democrats in the United States of America are set to introduce a legislation in the Congress which aims at preventing future ban on entry of Muslim nationals.

  • This comes after Former President Donald Trump had put a ban on the entry of Muslims from Iran, North Korea, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Venezuela.

  • However recently elected President Joe Biden had overturned this provision of law on his first day.

  • The bill name National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants (NO BAN) Act was reintroduced on Friday by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler and Judy Chu.

  • The NO-BAN act aims at preventing any possible future ban on entry of people to the US by any serving president solely on the basis of religion.
