Delimitation Commission recommends representation for Kashmiri Pandits in J&K Assembly

• The Delimitation Commission has recommended representation for Kashmiri Pandits and displaced people from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) by way of nomination in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

• The Commission has also proposed reserving nine seats will also be reserved for Scheduled Tribes (STs) for the first time.

• The commission recommended seats for at least two members (one of them must be a female) from the community of Kashmiri migrants and such members may be given power at par with the power of nominated members.
