The Delhi government on Wednesday announced that schools for classes 10 and 12 would reopen next week, starting January 18. This comes ahead of the recent board examination dates announced by CBSE. The board examinations are scheduled to begin from May 4.
Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia said, “Students can come to school only if their parents allow. Children will not be forced to come... Permission is being given to open schools for practicals, projects, counselling etc. for classes 10 and 12 classes from January 18.”
Further he stated that although syllabus of most of the subjects has been completed however in order to clarify doubts and difficulties of the students the schools are being reopened.
A circular issued by the Directorate of Education, Delhi stated "All internal assessment should be done during this period and proper records should be maintained so marks can be uploaded on the CBSE website.”
