• On Sunday, Delhi Police filed a supplementary chargesheet against Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam and Faizan Khan in the Delhi riots case under the Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act before a Delhi Judge.

• The case concerns the alleged plot which led to riots in the North-East part of the national capital in February 2020.

• Under Sections 13/16/17/18 UAPA, Sections 120B r/w 109/ 114/ 124A/ 147/ 148/ 149/ 153A/ 186/ 201/ 212/ 295/ 302/ 307/ 341/ 353/ 395/ 419/ 420/ 427/ 435/ 436/ 454/ 468/ 471/ 34 IPC, 25/27 Weapons Act & 3 / 4 PDPP Act, the chargesheet was filed before Amitabh Rawat, Additional Sessions Judge, Karkardooma Courts.

• Though Khalid and Sharjeel are in judicial custody in connection with the case, the Delhi High Court granted Faizan Khan bail in the case.
