Delhi Police team visits Twitter office, amidst 'Congress Toolkit' row

  • Special cell of the Delhi police landed at the office of Twitter on Monday evening, following a notice was served to the social media platform- where it marked BJP leader, Sambit Patra's tweet as 'manipulated media'.

  • The Delhi Police stated that they sent teams to Twitter's offices in South Delhi and Gurgaon to handle them notices in person, after they found the comapnies previous replies as 'ambiguous'.

  • The case in point involves a tweet by BJP leader Sambit Matra on May 18, where he had screenshots of what he termed as the 'Congress toolkit'- which he stated was aimed at criticising Modi government's handling of the pandemic. The party had filed FIRs against several BJP leaders who shared the same tweet.
