As part of the Graded Response Action Plan, which is devised to combat air pollution in Delhi and the neighbouring cities of Gurugram and Noida, a ban will be implemented on diesel generators starting Thursday.
This measure has been taken considering the poor air quality of the Delhi NCR region. Although, the AQI was slightly better on Wednesday (276, as compared to 300 on Tuesday) but air quality still remains in the ‘poor‘ column.
This ban would affect about 15,000 residents of the Millennium city. Three group housing societies (DLF Camellias, The Crest, DLF phase-V) don’t have a regular power supply and depend on these diesel generators.
