Delhi imposes Rs.2000 fine for no mask; Ahemdabad imposes night curfew

  • Delhi Chief Minister on Thursday announced that the fine for not wearing a mask in public places has now been increased to Rs.2000, from the earlier Rs.500.

  • This step was taken with an intention to control the surge of the Covid-19 cases in the capital. He further urged religious leaders and administrative officials to make sure that all the devotees in relgious places and workers in the offices are wearing a mask at all times.

  • Further, taken into consideration the increasing coronavirus cases, Ahmedabad has imposed a night curfew from 9pm to 6am. The curfew will come into effect from Friday and will stay on indefinitely till the next notification.

  • The city reported 46,022 cases till yesterday and has also reserved 40% of the beds in the hospitals for the coronavirus patients.
