Delhi Court refuses to grant Bail to man accused of damaging Fatima Masjid

  • The applicant's lawyer vehemently protested before the Court that the applicant had been wrongly involved in the matter. In this case, he has been in judicial detention since 09.03.2020. It was argued that on the day of the incident, he was not present at the scene of the crime and was still at his place of employment on the day of the alleged incident.

  • Though refusing bail to a suspect who was arrested for destroying a mosque during the communal riots in North-East Delhi in February, the Karkardooma Court (Delhi) observed recently, “More than 50 innocent people were killed by the rioters in recent communal riots in North-East Delhi and the jerky act of rioters in this matter is an act against the secular system of the nation."
