Delhi Court Orders FIR Against Sambit Patra Over Doctored Video of Arvind Kejriwal

  • A Delhi court has ordered the police to file a FIR against BJP leader Sambit Patra for allegedly sharing a doctored video showing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal supporting agricultural laws, claiming that it may have sparked riots throughout the country.

  • While granting the application of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Atishi, Metropolitan Magistrate Rishabh Kapoor asked the Delhi Police to initiate a FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and conduct a thorough inquiry against the BJP Spokesperson. Atishi had petitioned the court for the filing of a FIR against Patra, stating that the video featured views that were diametrically opposed to the Delhi CM's and the Aam Aadmi Party's positions on agricultural legislation, causing farmer anger and dissatisfaction.
