
Defence Ministry buys 11 airport surveillance radars
On Thursday, the Defence Ministry of India signed a deal with Mahindra Telephonics to buy 11 airport surveillance radars for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.
An official statement has been released by the ministry.
These radars will help in increasing awareness about aircraft activities in the sky.
It will also enhance safety and efficiency in the flying operations of the Navy and the Coast Guard.
These radars are more advanced than the conventional ones.
"The procurement, at a cost of Rs 323.47 crore, will be made under the 'Buy and Make' category," the statement noted.
