Deep Sidhu granted bail in second case. Read full details

  • A Delhi Court on Monday granted bail to the Punjabi actor- activist Deep Sidhu in a case related to violence on Republic Day. The court termed his arrest in the second case, right after being granted bail in another case, as a 'vicious and sinister action'.

  • The court further stated that the arrest amounts to "playing fraud with the established criminal process.” Reliever Metropolitan Magistrate Sahil Gupta granted bail to Deep Sidhu in a case related to violence in Red Fort on Republic Day, observing that the element of timing and need for arrest is highly questionable.

  • The court further stated that despite knowing that Sidhu had been in judicial custody since February 9, he had been arrested only on April 17, after receiving normal bail. This indicates, the court said, that there was an intention to defeat the bail orders.
