Dawood's Nephew Denied Bail in Extortion Case
The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to grant bail to the nephew of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in a case filed against him in 2019 for alleged threats made to a builder under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).
Justices MR Shah and BV Nagarathna instructed the trial court to establish charges in the case, and then permitted Dawood's nephew to reapply for bail.
The appeal against the Bombay High Court's Dec 2021 ruling dismissing Mohammed Rizwan Iqbal Hasan Shaikh Ibrahim Kaskar's bail application was dismissed.
