Dalit teen assaulted, made to lick feet in UP

• In a glaring instance of caste-based violence, a video has come into notice where a Dalit teen is being assaulted and made to lick the feet of the accused in Rae Bareilli, Uttar Pradesh.

• The video shows the boy sitting on the ground with his hands on his ears - a sign of punishment. The accused are seen sitting on motorcycles, some of them laughing.

• Police arrested eight people after a video of the assault went viral. The police say the incident took place on April 10 and the arrests were made after a written complaint by the victim.
