Cyclone Nivar brings death and damage

• Tamil Nadu‘s Revenue and disaster management minister R.B.Udhyakumar on Thursday said that as a result of Cyclone Nivar, 3 people had died and 118 tiled roof houses had been damaged.

• A rough and initial estimate of cattle deaths stated that about 30 cattle had died due to the cyclonic storm and subsequent water flow.

• Indian Navy’s INS Jyoti was positioned north of Chennai and INS Sumitra also reached the coast by the afternoon to provide relief and engage in rescue missions.
