Crop loss, railway services cancelled as Cyclone Jawad hits West Bengal and Odisha
Heavy rains lash the southern parts of West Bengal, and Odisha as cyclone Jawad weakens to form a depression and continues to move towards the North-Eastern states.
The wind speed reaches up to 40-50 Kmph along the coast of West Bengal as per the observations made by the Met department.
The cyclone has affected the Paradip port in Odisha. The state has faced significant crop losses due to the depression formed by cyclone Jawad.
The fishermen along the coastlines of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal are advised not to venture.
The East Coast Railway will resume its services from today after the cyclone weakens to become a depression.
