Covid-positive report no longer necessary for hospitalisation: Centre

  • The Union Health Ministry on Saturday revised certain guidelines, making it more 'patient-centric'. In the revised guidelines, the Government has decided that it is no longer necessary for a patient to be admitted in a Covid healthcare facility.

  • The government has come up with such a measure to ensure that no patient is denied services and all patients are treated well.

  • It stated that no patient will be refused treatment on any account, that includes medications like oxygen or essential drugs- even if the patient belongs to a different city.

  • It further stated that admissions to hospitals must be on the basis of need and it ws stressed to make it necessary that those who do not need hospitalisation, do not unnecessarily occupy the beds.
