Covid negative report mandatory to enter Delhi. Tap to know why
According to sources travellers coming to Delhi from Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh , Madhya Pradesh and Punjab will be required to show a negative RT-PCR test.
The decision is likely to be in place till March 15. Although travellers coming in from roads are exempted, those travelling from buses, flights and trains will be tested upon arrival itself.
Officers in these states will be asked to verify Covid negative reports from tests taken up to 72 hours before the flight before allowing passengers to leave for Delhi. Last week, notably all the five states together contribute to 86 per cent of the total Covid cases in the country.
