Courtrooms will be truncated in the future because of technology: CJI Bobde

  • CJI S A Bobde said on Saturday that thanks to technical advancements, courtrooms and court buildings will get smaller in the future.

  • He also noted that, while the COVID-19 pandemic has hindered access to justice, it has paved the way for courtroom modernization.

  • The Chief Justice of India was speaking to a crowd after dedicating a new building for the Bombay High Court's Goa Bench in Porvorim, close here.

  • Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Law and Justice, Media, Electronics and Information Technology, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and others were also in attendance.

  • According to the CJI, the infrastructure debate has mainly focused on the quantitative aspect, that is, how much money is spent on it.
