Court denies bail to ex-AAP councillor in Delhi Riots case

  • A Delhi Court on Thursday denied bail to former Aam Aadmi Party Councillor Tahir Hussain in three different FIRs related to the February north-east Delhi riots.

  • The Court made note that he made use of his muscle power and political clout to act as a lead in planning and instigating the communal riots.

  • The court also stated that public witnesses against Tahir Hussain were the people of the same locality and if he is released on bail now, there is possibility of him threatening them.

  • Mr.Hussain has been in judicial custody since March 16 and he argued that there is no legal evidence which connects him to the cases.
